schools good, feels like i've been here forever....and of course there's some things from home that i still miss...so i leave you with this...:
You Know You're From Pennsylvania When.....
*You never refer to Philadelphia as anything other then 'Philly' and New Jersey is always just 'Jersey'
*You refer to Pennsylvania as PA
*You know what a mummer is(alright no joke so out of all my friends here i'm the only one from PA and when i was reading them this list they all looked at me like i was crazy!!! i had google mummers and show them what they were, it was crazy...AND they don't know what a mac machine is...cuz it's an atm, it's really bananas)
*you can use the phrase "fire hall wedding reception" and not even bat an eye
*at least 5 people on your block has electric candles in their windows (aww makes you think of the McIntyres!!!)
*words like hoagie, shoefly pie, sticky buns, pierogies, actually mean something to you (ya cuz here it's a sub, and i don't like it)
*you know that Blue Balls, Intercourse, Paradise, Climax, Bird-in-hand, Mars, and Virginville are all PA towns
*there's no such thing as a philly cheesesteak...it's just a cheesesteak
*you consider Pitt. to be out west and the quickest way to Philly is the turnpike
*you have the uncontrolable urge to buy milk and bread when you hear the word snow
*school closings due to snow take forever to hear your school cuz just about every town has it's own district
*refer to things as "whole nother" example: 'that's a whole nother issue'
*you want olive oil not mayo on your hoagie
*you've realized your favorite dessert is 'wooder ice'
*you don't think wawa sounds funny ( it's rough out here w/ no wawa)
*you know what boathouse row is
home in three weeks for thanksgiving...and will finally get to go to all the places i miss!!! |
